Slightly different way of shoeing??????

Crikey, poor bloody sod - no wonder they have to tie the horse up like that, if the farrier tried to send nails through in that position my horse wouldn't be seen for dust.

Good Lord! That looks pretty brutal I'm guessing that they've been doing it this way for hundreds of years. Although looking at the shoe I can't see why it would be worth it in the first place!

And the point of those shoes would be???.... and correct me if Im wrong, but was there a small child gnawing on a bone in that film? Dont'cha love multiculturalism??!!

This is a really sad video, but this comment did make me laugh :o

Awful clip! I flinched when the nails went in, poor little horse, must be horrific for him. :(

I was told recently about a local farrier who has been known to demonstrate roping and then shoring while the horse is down

Awful for the poor pony - nails look to be travelling close to going through the sole.

I used to have a mare that would have benefitted being trussed up like that to trim her feet - B***h was evil to do anything with her hind feet, fronts were fine but every few months I'd have to have knocked out by the vet so that the farrier could trim her back feet.
