Just wondering how many of us have plans in place should we suffer an illness which meant we were no longer able to look after our neddies, or even worst case scenario died unexpectedly?

(The only reason I've been wondering this is is because I've been looking after my mums mare all week & am now hoping she doesn't pop her clogs so I get left with the moody beast!

Yes I do - I have a letter of wish noted in my will that I can easily update to deal with the care of my horses and cats - I probably only have this cos an ex was a laywer mind you

Good question - I thought about this long and hard when I was having a really bad time carrying my son (as in pregnant not shopping bag carrying), and wondered if worst came to the worst what would happen to my then 3 4-legged babies... I don't think I broached the subject to anyone, but can remember snivelling and begging OH to not sell them and to look after them... but it's worth thinking about seriously :-(

i too have a letter of wish stored with my will saying what i want to happen.

Morbid, maybe, but at least i know then what will happen & people are not left wondering what i wanted.

have always had a will, plus letters ... having a child, horses and various other animals if you are responsible you really should have one. Who knows, might get knocked down by a car tomorrow! I didnt want to leave the responsibility of sorting my dependents out to someone else and want to make sure they would go on to a life i wantedc for them

I have this arranged with a friend that she will take care of them until a time arises that they are PTS'd - she offered to do this for me and there is money set aside for their care if something were to happen.

I made a Will cheaply through the solicitors I worked at giving a detailed 'wish' that my horse would live out the rest of his days with the Y.O as he loves the yard and she was really keen on him at one point. However since changed mind after Y.0 had words and destroyed Will so horse will be sold/put down upon my death, whichever my parents think is in his best interests, although I've detailed to them certain people I do not want him to go to. x

I have made arrangement for my horse and cats. They are to go to my OH and in the event he is unable to appropriately care for them, my horse is to pts and my cats to go to the CPL.

I feel this is the best decision for my horse as he is unsound and very high maintenance to be a companion horse.

I havent made any provisions for my 5 horses, 3 dogs,1 cat & A parrot ......... think I might have to make an appointment to put my life in order.

Yes, my plans are made and are known. They are also updated regularly to take account of deaths/births and any illnesses or advancing age of each animal.
