20 yeas ago I bought/rescued an 11.2 palomino welsh pony from Worcester Park, south London called Bonnie.

She's still with me and is great grandma to my 15.3 2 yr old by Derek - so she founded a dynasty and is fit and sound now and the best pony on 4 legs

When I got her we knew she'd been bred locally and there was a field of ponies near Tolworth that she may have come from.

Bright chestnut, broad white blaze, no white on her legs and had been starved and had a reputation for being evil (due to lack of food/starvation).

No freezemark etc in those days but now microchipped.

She's now graded sports pony but of 'unknown breeding'.

I traced that she'd been passed from pillar to post due to being difficult and took her on to give her a start in life (instead of being dog-food) but she's still with me as at 5 she was ace fast and bucked like stink !!

I hope for many years yet - but at 24 each year is precious.

Anyone recognise her from s. london 23 years ago when she'd have been a foal ??

It's a very slim chance but you never know...........

I think she was in the farm on the RHS of the dual carriageway leading from ewell to tolworth towers - just before you get to tolworth towers roundabout
then she was at tom Parkers and then round another rather ramshackle yard

she had had her mane scissored and had been starved in a stable and called a 'savage' when she gave both back barrels to someone that went into stable with food

broad white blaze, bright chestnut body and palomino mane and tail (except the tail has chestnut hairs in it so not a tru pally)

iron fist in very pretty package - had to be a 'survivor' to get thru wp experience

bought by a woman called Jean who I then indirectly bought her from with someone else acting as a 'go-between' as Jean wouldn't have sold her to me at that time (later realised I'd given her a good home)

bonnie is absolutely trustworthy now with the kids and even 20 years ago had 3 yr olds brushing her once she'd been broken in and fed

she was around WP from age of 2 to 3 definitely but certain she was born there

I've always wondered - someone else said there was a welsh breeder there at that time but I never managed to trace it as they'd gone by the time I needed bon's background to register her foal 6 years later.

If you have got anything please PM me as I'd love to know here breeding and background and with google there may be some old piccys aroudn on the web of her mum/dad

I luv my little old pone - she's in the veterans on bhol monday yet again - and her eyebrows get greyer each year !!

grafton road - that was it - don't know WP very well

jean was no. 8 in the list - she bought her 'cos she wanted that colour pony
it was the 3 people before her that had mistreated her/neglected her

she was at parkers before she was at grafton but I don't think for long - it was yet another of her optimistic owners as bonnie can be a cow pony given a long enough piece of string ;-)

jean said she'd had about 7 people owning her in a very short while, then jean for about 3 months and then me. Jean brought her out of WP in 1985/86 and brought her to Epsom and I bought her at 3 turning 4 and had her ever since
