Are the new slim line body protectors any good? Looking at Charles Owen shadow and race safe motion.
I hate jumping in a proper body protector so after something a bit more flexible for popping small jumps in the school at home.
I know air jackets are also good for this, however I am prone to hugging my horse's ears so I'm convinced I'll keep setting it off 😂

Not sure which one you mean. One cant generalise. A back protector offers protection down the back. A body protector has some padding at the sides as well and will do more to protect your ribs.
I know my ribs are vunerable. In my most recent fall, attempting to stop or slow a run away horse on a solo hack, I came off over her left shoulder, thus falling sideways and onto my left elbow. I also know from a stable injury that it is really painful to have the point of ones elbow thrust down into ones ribs. So I continue to wear a full body protector.
