We got caught in torrential rain on Sunday. Still had a fab ride. Reins were so slippery. They’re the modern rubber dressage pimple ones. Any advice?

I received a sample of modern up-market pimply reins and it felt too thick.

So I stayed with plain leather reins and usually wear the old fashioned children's pimply gloves in summer. My winter gloves are Roekl but the saddler persuaded me to buy another brand for summer, HV polo.
I take them to the yard every week but havent actually worn them yet. The mare I am riding does not pull and my fingers are fine on the bare leather.
As for wet weather, our yard cancelled my riding - high winds and pouring rain made the trees dangerous.

I find thise reins you have are terribly slippery when wet. I have rubber reins with millions of tiny fine pimples on and they are far better. And the only gloves that I can ride with in the rain are Macwet (I've honestly tried them all)

I like Macwet gloves too. When you talk about modern dressage pimple resins what do you mean? The ones with rubber and tiny pimples on the inside and leather on the outside?

I can't stand the additional bulk of rubber but found some synthetic reins with rubber thread woven into them which I use for wet fun rides

EcoRider super grip reins, I think.
