Everytime I put an exercise sheet on my horse it slips. EVERYTIME no matter what I do. I put it straight on his back saddle on and fold the front back on both sides under the girth straps and use the loops on the side to put the girth through but the bl***dy thing works its way backwards within 10 minutes with me grabbing it in desperation and pulling it back, all to no avail, what am I doing wrong?

listining closely to this one as mine does that exact same thing... even pulled really high up to start with and throught the girth loop its still at the back of the saddle by the time ive got down the road!

is yours a waterproof one?
do the cotton/wool ones do the same?

Can you put a numnah under it? It sounds like its slipping on the horses hair, where hopefully the numnah will stop that.

Mine is a waterproof one, and yes, it did cross my mind to put a numnah on first. Will give it a try next time. (what a performance isn't it, by the time I get all tacked up I'm too knackered to ride and then the sun will come out)!

Could you attatch some D-ring straps? i.e. a piece of double velcro stitched to the sheet that can be passed through the saddles D-ring and back on itself to secure it?

This used to happen to mine aswell, to stop it I put a thick numnah or polypad on the horses back, then the exercise sheet on and then the saddle and fold the corners of the sheet well up under the girth straps but over the bottom flap of the saddle, if you know what I mean?! Anyway mine has never slipped since I put it on this way.

I sewed a piece of webbing with a bit of velcro on it to the front of the sheet thwn tucked it under the saddle flap and sewed another bit just behind the saddle flap to stick it to, worked for me!

i got fed up with this so i got a quater sheet instead
