I am looking for some good old HHO advice please.

We moved into a property in March and have repurposed one of the farm buildings for stables. The previous owners put down a polished floor in part of the building for a party!!!
Anyway, the floor is slippy. I’ve got rubber mats down but they are still slipping. Would the best idea be to rough up the polished concrete somehow? Is there a machine that does such a thing or should I stick the mats to the floor ?
Thoughts much appreciated

I wouldn't stick the mats to the floor as in time I am guess urine etc might get through unless you can seal it perfectly, with maybe liquid rubber or something. Could you get some rough concrete put over the floor doesn't need to be deep but just enough to make it non slippery or ask the people who lay these floors what to do. There are products you can paint on to make them non slippery but not sure if they would stand up to being in a stable.
