I have no report as it was cancelled when I got there! At least its a close event. They ran the Novice this morning but that was it. So what will happen about the PNRF as that was also cancelled? Will it move to another event? I am not entered in it but was just curious.

So next will be Wilts College which I had entered yesterday thank goodness.

this is just awful!!! cancellations through wetness in march, then the ground hard like summer and withdrawals!!! the driest badders, then more cancellations through wetness again!!!!! Never known the weather to be so up and down!!

I thought going looked ok (but did not ride on it) but I have hunted my horse a lot on bottomless clay so not too worried about horse and I. but I guess it was the safety and emergency services aspect. I think Chepstow might live up to last year as being another wet one as rain is not stopping till end of week.

haha woke up late, plaited and cleaned tack (and horse!) in the lorry on way to event, got there, walked course in pissing rain, then found it was cancelled

after a 2 hour journey i felt like crying!

however totally understand the call, sunken road at top of hill was more like a water jump!!

whos off to chepstow then? hoping that wont be cancelled as need it as a run before sansaw!

Argh frustrating.
Just got back from an equally soggy Aston le Walls.

Ground held up well considering.

Lovely xc course, looked like so much fun, but tbh i really didnt enjoy lashing rain... then got my car stuck

this weather is bloody horrendous though, theres not been a break in it all day today.

Will they move the PNRF to their next event in July ?? or is that too late in the season for this yrs regionals? Would like to know if another event will be taking it on beforehand though, I really should enter it and make use of my qualification!

I've also just got back from SLM. I was doing PNRF there and was abandoned just as I was about to go in to do my test! Walked the course in the most unbelievable monsoon rain! They did allow me to do my test after it was abandoned as I was ready to go in, she was great actually and got 31, but I understand why the decision was made. The going in SJ was pretty awful by that point.

Very frustrating and not sure what will be done about PNRF. Now have a lot of wet clothing to wash and dry! Lovely!

Poor you. Thank god it wasn't a long way away, far enough though...
I was wondering what was going on down there while being hauled round Cribbs by the boys (think I'd rather have been at SLM frankly).

I was the same as u little_pink_piggies...2 hours to get there, walked course in pouring rain and got absolutely soaked (managed to buy dog a lovely little mac and he was the most dry of us all!). then got back to lorry, about to get out to do test and it was called off...the horse didnt even get off the lorry!! poor chap!

Thank goodness we got rejected is all I can say, I doubt we would have run in that rain, though he was hunted when young so perhaps would have coped ok.
What a shame to have to drive back home all plaited. You must have been so disappointed.
The long term forecast is rain and more rain, so the later events may get cancelled too.
I feel like a duck after today here, you could sail a bot in our lane it's that deep!

I bathed my horse (due to the fact that he is coloured and was trying to pass as bay) plaited him mane travelled nearly 2 hours to get to SLM only to turn round and drive home again! didnt actually get as far as looking at the course but assume it must of been pretty wet for them to have cancelled!
