Slopey field

My pony has just been diagnosed with a stifle problem. Guarded prognosis for soundness. My field is on a slope. Ideally he’d be kept on a flat field but until I can find one would you allow him access to large area but just half of field or zig zag down it? I’m just trying to work with what I’ve got. Thanks.

No idea about how helpful it would be for stifle issues, but we have a very steep paddock that we've built a sort of chicane into with electric fence on the advice of the physio, to stop them pelting down the hill full tilt, it definitely slows them up a bit and makes them go across the hill rather than straight down.
