My 27 yo mare is totally refusing to eat our home grown hay (precious girl). I've been mixing small amounts of haylage with her hay, but she just picks out the haylage. I've tried giving her just hay and she won't eat it. I've tried other locally grown hay and she won't eat that either!!!

She's retired and, ideally, I would not feed her haylage but I have no alternative. Can you recommend some high fibre (timothy or similar??) small bale haylage please! Thanks.

Highly recommend EH Haylage (got a fab website, google it). I've been feeding their high fibre small bales ad-lib to my retired good-doer cob (also 27 yr old) for approx four years now with absolutely no probs. Super consistent quality too, never a bad bale.

Autumn, thank you! Coincidentally, this is the haylage that I've used recently and thought it was fine, but I was concerned about using it all the time on a retired, old horse. Your post has put my mind at rest. I think I'll look into buying in bulk!
