Small bite complete dog food - best value large bag?

I've a 4 year old lurcher with poor teeth - she has a several missing and the rest are poor. She is a fussy eater, plus has difficulty eating large chunks.

She loves Bakers Complete Small Bite dog food which I feed to her with 1/4 tin of Butcher's Tripe tinned food mixed in. (Anymore tinned food and she gets vile wind and digestive upset. Her vet suggests we avoid a tinned meat diet).

My gripe is, this Bakers Complete variety only comes in small 1 or 3kg bags which work out really expensive. I know it's supposed to be for small dogs but I'm betting if I was a small dog breeder I'd want a bigger sack than a 3kg one! If Bakers did a 15kg bag I'd happily buy that.

So, can anyone recommend another ADULT complete dog food that is tasty, a small sized kibble, and comes in a good value 15kg sack please!?

Have you tried Vitalin by any chance? It looks a bit bland but that means you can easily jazz it up by adding gravy or a bit of canned food as you do already. Although it's cheap and cheerful, our dogs love it, especially in the winter when I'll add gravy to it or if one of them needs a bit extra; I think they probably look on it as a nice bowl of porridge! You'll be able to get a small bag from any pet shop to see if dog likes it too.
Also, do you have any Pets At Home or Kennelgate stores near you because they have their own brands which are far cheaper than named brands but can almost be identical? We use Kennelgate breeder pack for working dogs, that's not too big crunchy bits and even our old Border with not such good teeth copes very well with it. KGate have a website I think so you could check for stockists otherwise, have you thought of places like Countrywide and other agricultural stores, they will have large bags and I know Bakers do big bags. Most stores like those would be glad to order in for you.

But if you look at the ingredients you will see they not good.

Anyway - Would suggest burns (or poss JWB) for dry food. Or chappie (wet food) is meant to be good for sensitive tummies? Naturediet and Natures harvets are other good wet foods - then you can used small bite luaghing dog mixer in with the wet food?

Either way - whatever food you pick - just please look at the ingredients and make sure they good and you are happy with them

EEEEK... clicked the above link and yuk. See what you mean. I only bought the 1kg (trial sized) bag of the Bakers from Sainsbury's last weekend so thankfully she's not too attached to it yet. Must admit though, she certainly liked it. I only picked it up because it stated 'small bite' kibble on the bag - must admit, didn't think to read the label. Was just thankful she ate it when I got it home!

Was thinking of trying the Burns. Shall have to get a small trial bag and see how she likes it. Fingers crossed.

We used to feed our Goldren Retriever and Irish Wolfhound Vitalin when they were alive. Both loved it! And the IW lived to 11 years old, so the diet must have been good for her. Have tried the Vitalin (and various others cereal based foods) but the lurcher doesn't like them. She's the only dog I know that prefers you NOT to put gravy or extras into her food. If I add anything to her food she sniffs it suspiciously and walks away in disgust. Only thing she seems to find permanently irrisistable is the Butchers Tripe mix. She's a very picky dog

Tried feeding her the Chappie meat back along but she totally refused to even try it. Even after several days of receiving nothing else.

I feed burns too, a very good dog food. Thats what i have been told anyway.

My lurcher (who can be a little selective over her food) loves Chudleys Snippets which can be obtained in a 15K bag. I order it especially from our local farm shop and it is apparently the only type of dog food that his own dogs have ever tried to thieve into.
