Hi all….does anyone know where I can find a soft dog bed that the dog can get inside?? Kind of like a cat house only bigger. Its for my little Frenchie. He’s too big to fit into a cat house, but he seems to feel the cold and is a real lap dog (despite being a bit on the large side for a lapdog!) and in the mornings I usually find him wedged under a radiator or curled up in one of my leather bucket chairs!

He currently has a conventional dog bed with a fleece blanket, plus I bought a pad to go underneath to get it raised off the floor but he’s still not warm enough. He’s kept in our kitchen / diner and it’s a large room with laminate flooring so not the warmest. I’m sure he’d be much happier to sleep on our bed but that aint happening!

I’ve seen beds that they can bury themselves into, but I don’t think he’d have the sense to do that and would just lay on top. Ideally something like a cat house / soft kennel would be perfect. I’ve had a google but can’t seem to find what I’m looking for.

Any suggestions?! :)

thanks quirky...i almost bought one of these but i dont think he'd get in it, would just lay on top. We've tried putting to beds, one top of the other (the top one being upside down) so as to make a sort of kennel but he didn't get in just sat on the roof of it and collapsed it!

Mine just have cages with big thick blankets on top so they only have the door that they can see out of. Keeps them lovely and toasty. I had a friend who used a tent pole and a blanket to makeshift an igloo type thing

OMG...i know my dog has a bowtie on in the picture above but thats as far as the dressing up goes...that pink bed is hideous!!!!! thanks for the links tho there seem to be a few slightly less horrible ones on there. :)

Petcetera have dog beds that look like two polypad numnahs stitched together to make a pocket iyswim, looks nice and cosy. I've just ordered a 'terrier tunnel' from Petplanet, reduced to £6, might be worth a wee look?

stilltrying: I WANT him!!!! NOW!!!! I've wanted a Frenchie for years. He has such a lovely head and expression.

I have a long-legged JRT and she has a "cat bed" made for dogs. It's enclosed and has a fleece lining and removable cushion. I don't have a clue how to show it to you. I will try to find something similar on the internet and maybe there will be a link. It would be perfect for your little man.

If you go to eBay and type in hooded dog bed, there are several shapes which could work. You could do a Google search, which would bring up many pet suppliers who have online stores. I bought mine at my local pet and feed supply. Good luck.
