Just wondering if anyone could recommend either a small event stallion (under 16hh) or large riding pony stallion to put to my welshxtb mare? To balance her out, I'd like something compact with a very solid canter. I would only be breeding once and to keep; as an amateur eventer I would like something that hopefully produces a straightforward youngster! Thank you :)

Are you looking for more bone or less? Is temperament important?

What would be your preferred location in the UK for natural covering? or doesn't it matter.

Thanks for the suggestions! Both look interesting. I like that they're both competing, gives a good idea of rideability. If possible would prefer solid colour!
Looking for something to add quality to my mare, ideally tb or riding pony type, but keeping my options open.
I'm in Scotland so would consider AI but would prefer natural, consider northern half of England.
Temperament always important :) and canter v important.

Old thread revival!
If you can find where he's standing, Icon, the palomino lusitano/ arab event stallion is absolutely cracking and would produce a lovely type with your mare.

Another suggestion would be the outstanding little stallion Balou Star (Balou du Rouet x Quick Star) who has just arrived in the UK and will be based with the Allens in Yorkshire - Stainsby Grange EC - for the early part of the season. He's approved by almost all the main European studbooks, and has been competing successfully at 1.50 to 1.60 levels with Hans Dieter Dreher. Have a look at his website : http://www.baloustar.com/en/

you could take a look at Angrove Spottedick 82.5 Tb his sire has produced 7 eventers now all out competing with amazing temp being passed on to every one
