Does anyone else own one and keep it in a livery yard full of competition horses? I've just moved to a new yard and we are the only happy hacking cob there, the rest are very athletic, massive, slightly crazy looking horses ?

Don't get me wrong, the new yard is lovely, but I'm sure they are looking at my girls mega tache and twitching ???

Yes I have 2, and they are more high maintenance than the competition horses. The have their diva ways and tell you when they are not happy ?

I have a hairy cob but she is quite sleek and has a pretty dainty girly head with no moustache. She is in great demand as babysitter for all my friends horses and has been since she was 4, am yet to find a horse that doesn't love her from the unicorn next door (a PRE) to natives to a posh showjumper ? Bit worried about taking her to camp next week tho incase she gets laughed at or patronised as shes a very sweet little thing and I get defensive on her behalf ?

Having recently loaned a cob for my daughter having been truly fixated by tb types my whole life - I have to say wow! What a total gem he is! Never will I underestimate a cob again worth his weight in gold and yes, already being asked if he can accompany the more flighty residents at the yard out hacking!

Come to Exmoor Camp at Somerford, you'll be welcomed with open arms.

Nope, Honorary Exmoors are always welcome! I have just remembered that we're not at Somerford again til next year, so plenty of time to plan. Are you going to Arkenfield next week?

No Eland, Arkenfield would never make cobbler feel out of place as are so nice ? Not that actual Eland people would, they are also lovely, more worried about the super serious other camp people ?

I've always wanted to do an Eland camp, have fun! Also Arkenfield is literally 10 mins down the road from me, we should do a HHO meet up :D

I've got a wonderful hairy mistachio'd cob. (Although his 'tash gets trimmed as it is very messy if he gives kisses after eating!) He used to be kept alongside DD's BS ponies, now with her hunters. And the yard has event TBs too. Cob is probably the most beloved of the entire yard!

Yes :) My little cob is on a very nice dressage yard with warmbloods and Iberian horses all being trained towards or completing at Grand-Prix. There is a Welsh-d stallion there too but he is definitely smarter than my little hairy beast. My cob is ridden by one of the family who own the yard. Everyone who sees my lad thinks we are fibbing when we say he is competing successfully at Advanced Medium and riding most of the Grand Prix moves at home - that is until they see him in action :D:eek: We have disguised his cobby-ness recently as he is clipped out because he gets really hot - he is definitely a cold weather type of chap.
