I spend an age trying to find the perfect riding boot, colour, size, style.. and even drove a rather long distance to see the prospective boot before purchase.

Now it seems EVERY shop is selling them!! :D

Ralph Lauren however is not included in this as the stuff is just awesome regardless :D lol.

Wonder what hapless sport/subject they will direct fashion at next?! In fact, suggestions please!! Chocolate and brandy to the funniest one! :)

I work in the fashion industry myself and if you look back the whole equestrian theme has been recurring for several years and throughout recent history it has been done a lot as often seen as a smart and luxurious trend. It has however never been done to this extent and the highstreet has never really seen the trend this big.

The equestrian theme is usually taken in small doses by high end fashion and a hint in the look is often done well and looks classy but the highstreet have never really got it, doing full on equestrian and not really to the same standard or with positive results. I wouldn't choose to wear equestrian clothing when not around my horses as like to have a break now and again and the fashion horsey wear would never be suitable for around the horses so this is one trend happily left alone.
