Following on from another post,

I was everyone suggest small holed nets. I tried doubling up my horses small holed haynets started with just his afternoon net at 3lbs and normall eats every scrap decided to leave the whole net and refused to eat. I am reluctant to do it with his night net as dont want his to refuse to eat all night. I done this for a week and everyday was the same. Went back to a single small holed net and back happy eating.

What would you do, he is starting to loose weight from diet and exercise. But he eats his hay nets so quickly and cant give him more as he will put the weight back on.

I double net my boy's hay in 2 small-holed hay nets as he just inhales it otherwise. I've never had a problem with him not eating it. It's hard work for him to get the hay out - but he persists because he is so greedy!

What about putting a small holed net inside a medium holed net so it's not so hard for him. Or continue to put it in 2 small holed nets but pull some chunks of hay so they are sticking out until he gets the idea.
