ok so My friend put Hiron out for me this morning and she said that he had a bit of dried blood in his left nostril. i wouldnt usually be worried but this happens quite a lot to him i would say once every two months. Its not always the same nostril but never both. It is never triggered by anything specific once i was hacking and like this time he was just stood in and its literally just a trickle not even a teaspoon full. he also has always had discharge coming from his nostrils its clear in colouring. he dosent sneeze or cough often either so i dont think he has a dust allergy. I have rang the vet and i am just waiting for them to call me back with some advice. in the meantime does anyone have any ideas?

one of mine had this, always very slight, and iirc he was 'scoped and the vets found little polyps in his airway which caused the slight bleed. they told me it was nothing to worry about.
i'd want to get to the bottom of why he always has a clear discharge from both nostrils though, if he was mine.

one of mine gets occassional minor nose bleeds at rest as you have described.

He has been scoped by the vet and the fluid analysed. In his case it is a hay fever type of irritation.

There are some really nasty conditions that only show up as a minor nosebleed so scoping is vital.

Hope all goes well
