Small soft lump on cannon bone just below the hock?

Bit like a windgall in that it is soft-ish, and a similar size but it is towards the front of the top of the cannon bone just under the hock joint. Came up without warning, no heat and horse is barely lame but has been off colour for a day or two. I lunged him to check his soundness tonight and he was barely lame at trot, not at all at walk, and work had no effect on the lump. Anyone seen anything like it - I am going to let him have a few days field rest and see where it goes

It sounds like something my old man has had for years with no ill effects. The vet said it was a bursa
