Hi there, just noticed over the weekend a very small splint on my rising two year old Irish Draught. Im gutted as she is show mare who did very well last summer & she wasnt even in proper show condition due to a huge growth spurt she went through so I was really looking forward to this coming summer. Its very small & some people may not notice it but I did :) so a judge will too! I was wondering would it disappear eventually seen as its a small one? Ive read about rubbing goose fat on the area which I'll do when I get my hands on it tomorrow. Any help would be greatly appreciated, there is not much heat in the area & it doesnt seem to hurt when I press on it...I leave attached a photo, let me know if you cant see it. The second photo isnt great, it looks a bit bigger than that.

Thanks PapaFrita, these are the kind of stories I need to hear :) I really hope it goes away...I was surprised when I felt it though, It was already very hard & it definitely wasnt there the week before! All happened very quickly it seems...

Ditto Papafrita
My 2 year old had a small one from a kick virtually disappeared now, shes 5.
Yours is hardly noticable compared to mine so i'm sure it'll disappear, i just left mine alone :)

Yep, the one's on my little boy sprung up v quickly. Apparently they're not uncommon in youngsters going through a growth spurt.
