Small stallion to breed an event pony

If you had a 14.2hh mare who had proven herself to be a decent event pony and you wanted to breed something similar- preferably to not exceed 148 for the pony market, what would you pick?
Mare's weaknesses are a straight hindleg and not the greatest length of stride in the world. Strengths are a decent jump, a nicely shaped neck and a good attitude. She is trakehner x irish but quite lightweight

Thanks- he's quite cute but the mare herself has a tendancy to be a bit downhill so he probs wouldnt bring out the best in her
 
Just bear in mind that although she didn't go over 14.2hh she may carry the genes for it, so I'd probably err on the side of caution and use something under 14hh. I did consider using something like Tiny Tim on Deco to try and produce a 14.2 at one point! There's some really nice pony stallions over here, but that might be an expensive way of doing it.

Yes, I think she prob does as well because sire is 16.1 and dam 15hh so she should be bigger than she is.
It's the worst thing to breed a 14.3- no-one wants them!!
 
Isn't Future Illusion very small? He's about 15.3 (I think)and not approved/graded, but he's small and well bred, so could be what you're looking for.

Unfortunately he's also by the same stallion as the mare!
And 15.3 wouldnt breed me a pony
 
Echo what Tigers Eye has said - look very closely at the height genes in your mare's pedigree, and the stallion for that matter. I know a mare who was one of twins where one foetus was lost and "walled in"; she came out perfectly healthy, but only grew to 15.1hh on tippy toes, despite being from 16.1-16.2hh TB breeding. She was put to a 16.1hh stallion and the result is a strapping 16.2hh!

Equally, I have a 12.2hh RP mare who has gone to the same 14.1hh RP stallion twice; her first foal, a colt, is barely going to make 12.2hh; her second, a filly, will be a big 14hh.

Such a lottery!
 
Or Indian de Hieve (I not sure how to spell his name) but he is an Anglo Arab jumping pony that Colton Maelstrom ( my favourite jumping pony ever) had a foal by I think

of where he stands. He certainly should have enough blood for event breeding.
 
As far as I'm aware they are not standing Indien de Here at the moment, although he is still being competed succesfully.

How about Georgeo 111 (google for details) he was owned by a HHO member until recently and he's a really super coloured pony stally with all his gradings etc.
He was on my yard for a short while and he had a temperament (and jump) to die for.

I am lucky enough to have a mcguigan yearling out of a 13.2 and the same mare currently infoal to benwode brokat. The yearling was bred for FEI pony evening in mind from word go!!
 
Versatile pony stallion has to be Bernwode Brokat: proven outstanding dressage ability; he jumps & he is a really nice person. I have used him over the last 4 years on range of different pony mares & all offspring have been athletic beautifully put together ponies with good brains. Plus if you are breeding commercially they sell really well.
 
Future Illusion will finish up at about 16.1 - still only a 4 (rising 5) year old and so still got some growing to do. I believe he is set to be presented for grading this year as he has not yet been presented for one.
 
We have a Brokat yearling here, out of a PBA mare, he was bred to be a 14.22hh all round sports pony, but to be correct enough to show in hand too, and I think he'll be aimed at Malvern NPS Champs for his showing debut.
May even persuede boss to take him to the futurtity
 
I have to say I WOULDNT go connie as ime they tend to yes be able to jump, but not have that free flowing stride, they can be choppy, and they have a mind of their own and if they say no, they mean it! But they can jump, so that's to be factored in.
