I am thinking of not renewing my Stables insurance and getting a Smallholders policy. We only have 6 horse and ponies here and it would be a lot cheaper and more appropriate than a stable policy. Who would people recommend both for service and dealing with claims please?

I have a farm select policy through NFU, they cover public liability, employers liability of which I don't have any but covers anyone helping out who aren't family, buildings, fence etc. There is also a small amount of cover for deadstock.

well I only have horses (although I do have several tractors and a fair amount of machinery so not just a stable yard) and I was told by both companies I contacted (one being NFU) that I couldn't.

I have my stables, tack snd field equipment, and public liability insurance with Cliverton. Again, have never put in a claim, but they are very nice and easy to speak with.
