Smell of the week/month.

Ooh I might actually like that!

The smell of Cusson's Imperial Leather is based on "cuir de Russie", which is itself an imitation of Russian leather that was tanned using birch oil.

J&FJ Baker, a tannery in Devon, recently developed a modernised process for Russian leather.

Petrichor, a good tack room, hot horse, my dog when he's asleep (smells completely different to his awake smell and it's just heavenly 😍), baking bread, fresh sage and lavender rubbed together, the crackling smell before a thunderstorm and cornucrescine!

Vaguely remember Imperial Leather from when I was a kid but can't say it ever made me think of leather

Agree dog paws! Also just snuggly warm curled up dog, I love that!

One of my favourite ever horsey smells though is their chestnuts, feel the top off and they smell amazing and my dog thinks they are a delicacy 😂

Tobacco, before it’s been set light to.
I agree hay is lovely. I don’t get it so much now but when my old yard brought the hay crop in and filled the barn I’d stand there and inhale.
I work for a handbag manufacturer, we recently started using a different type of leather that’s less processed. The first thing that everyone did was take a big sniff and comment “ooh, now that smells of real leather”
