Little Jack has got so smelly he is now making me gag...

How do you clean your dogs properly? I mean after a day up the yard he stinks again but is it worth washing him?

I just attempted it int he downstairs shower but didn't really work as it wasn't high powered enough, might have to use my power shower next! lol

any ideas please

Tell me about it! Bess, our border collie, will roll in anything, eats pooh, loves cow muck and obviously runs about in the muddiest patches of land she can find!

I tend to just towel her off, as she's need bathing daily. However, we keep her outside most of the time in an indoor run in the shippon. She dries off on some lovely soft barley straw.

Living and working on a farm, she just gets too mucky to keep in the house all the time. She comes in for a couple of hours a day when she's dried off, but would rather be outside. Never settles in the house.

my collie loves the poo as well!!!
but i use puppy shampoo from pets at home, seems to wrork
but johnstons baby shampoo (gentle stuff) works well as well
but dont wash him too freq as he will stop grooming etc (if he does)

My collie cross is always rolling in fox poo, dead fish etc. I tend to either send her into the lake for a swim straight away if the weather is suitable (this washes it off before it dries on) or when I get home I wash the "affected" bit using a dog shampoo.

We gave up and had a shower room fitted for them!!
Not really just for them, but they use it most - really useful as don't have to fight with them into a bath or shower cubicle, in fact they really like it and all fight to get in there to play with the water!
Mine find the muck heap just the best playground ever! So need a fair bit of washing!
