Hi all, even tho I muck out horsebox after each use, it still has a strong smell of urine. What does everyone use to freshen it up?

I lift the mats to ensure the urine has been cleaned from under them. Mine has aluminium there, so when that is washed off the mats stay up until both the floor and mats dry.

I actually have a set of towels the make them as dry as possible first. The floor itself has a drain hols, so we make sure the standing water is all dispersed before towelling.

If urine has got under the mats and into the flooring, nothing will freshen it up without taking it apart and cleaning thoroughly.

ETA - I trained mine to pee outside of the box as it is such a pain!

Mine wees multiple times every journey. Sometimes I catch it in bucket. My mats are sealed. I have wood pellet / waste hay bed. I lift wet after each trip. Throw damp area up and leave to air. No smell. If damp weather I might use a mug of chicken anti ammonia powder.

It is aluminium floor but the rubber flooring appears fixed, it does have drain holes, I'd better investigate further 😁
