I am doing the Open PC event there this summer, but have never been there or head of it, is it a nice course? It is a bit of a trek but if its worth it then that is fine...?
Does anyone have any pictures of the course?
Thanks :)

There are pics on eventing worldwide, it uses pretty much the BE course. 2 waters, the first can be VERY deep if it's been raining. The course runs through Windsor park and is mostly strung as it's also open to the public, it is a bit twisty.

Ground can be very hard there is it's dry.

XC is miles away from SJ and dressage and lorry park. Allow lots of extra time to walk the course.

Fairly well organised and pleasant PC event

Never been myself but have heard it's a good one for ponies who can maintain speed whilst being in control enough to turn, as it's quite twisty!

IMO it is very twisty!!!!!! and not at all suitable to long striding horses .It is mainly on the forest tracks within the great park .The water is something else jumping into a large lake(20 acres) and out again. We wont ever go back as it really messed our young horse up.
What ever you do do not take a short cut to the CC across the polo grounds.

Going to stick with the ettington one then- lovely event, but this one doesn't sound too great! especially for our first year of open, would rather play safe! :D

I have to agree with what's already been said - definitely not one of my favourites! Dr and SJ are both quite nice and flat, but the cross country is very twisty and the ground as well as being hard is quite variable to say the least. You have to pretty much canter down a gravel track to get to the second water! I've only been twice, and won't be going back again.

I've been too and agree its twisty - but personally think for a young horse that needs to learn the course is useful - the fences aren't huge and don't pose a massive challenge, but they've got to focus on what you're asking rather than just gallop along in the open.

I've heard on the grapevine that they're doing alot of work in straightening out and improving the course, so may be less twisty this year?
