Smooth trot-halt transitions - how?

Really basic one but I'm struggling. I'm doing the Prelim 7 soon and the halt involves a trot-halt transition. I'm finding no matter how I ask, my mare is resisting and llamaing :( It's probably too soon for her first prelim (only done 3 intros) but I thought with it being a short one and only laps in canter, no circles it would be a good one to start with. It is all going well but unfortunately that final halt has us stumped :(

Any tips?
 
I'm sure in prelim you are allowed a few walk steps between trot and halt, i.e. a progressive transition.
 
I've just reread the test (after my initial panic) and you are both right :) My mind is now at rest and I can relax. Thankyou :)
