Very happy! Had my young irish sports horse a year now and he didn't really hack when I got him, so have spent ages going out in company and taking it slowly. Had a few issues (larry the lamb leaping with excitement, napping, rear spins), but we've gradually got a stronger and stronger bond and he's really starting to enjoy himself. He's still a bit of wuss in the lead though.

Last night went out hacking with a friend and asked him to lead down a very scary track with those big leaves that flap and he decided he wasn't brave enough and went all backwards and hunched up and I gave him a kick and he went forwards and then he did his rear spin, which previously would have scared me a little ... but last night I just made the 'woooOOOOooo' handbag type noise and laughed and he braved it! Then he was like the proudest little man in the world leading the other horse home! Yeahh!

Sorry pointless post but I'm so proud of me and him!!
I think I'm meant to offer choccie biscuits at this point!

Oh I've done solo once! A 40 min ride took us 1 hour and 20 mins! But we did it!! Sooo determined!
