We picked her up yesterday. She is a dear little thing, very timid, which is funny as she wasn't timid when we met her as a young pup, perhaps getting them at 12 weeks makes it harder for them to adjust than at 8? Still, she is happier this morning than she was yesterday.
She has huge googly eyes and ears that she must put in crimpers overnight.
What I am astounded about is how she works a tight figure of eight when I walk round the garden with her, instinct and breeding is a wonderful thing.
Pen thinks she is fablous, Tawny is in a furious and dark place and will not speak to me. Brandy (old girl) is ignoring her.
I haven't managed a photo as she is always hiding, and posing is not happening. :-) Will try later.
 
We didn't have time for a pup before the end of the shooting season, and then have just been away, so it made more sense to leave here there rather than bring her home for 10 days between the two. On the plus side she is house and crate trained! She has been living in the house with other dogs, including siblings, which may make her bonds to them stronger, perhaps?
She was playing with our young lab when I left for work this morning, so I don't think it will take long to get her out of the shell.
 
Ah, totally understandable personal circumstance then :) and a bonus that she is already house/crate trained :D

I'm sure she'll soon find her feet in the family and you'll be wondering what happened to the timid pup of yesterday :D

She is much braver now. I just had to break up a game on the lawn with Tawny, Pen and her. Trouble is Tawny is only playing as she doesn't want Pen and Smut to, so her hackles are up and with lots of bitches I don't ever want handbags at dawn to start. The game involved the two adult dogs lapping the summerhouse and taking out the puppy on the way past. She seems unharmed and unbowed!

When we bought her home yesterday it was hosing it down and bloody freezing. After a few minutes on the lawn we decided sod it and gave up - she hasn't had an accident yet (bar the ones where we make her jump!).
 
Dear little pup Clodagh, glad she has got braver. Yes I like to time the house training to good weather. Lots of hanging about outside! To be honest although I got Sonnet at the end of July for just this reason , she always knew why she was outside and I rarely had to wait for her. At 8 weeks they need to out more often than 12 weeks.
I have always had bitches and never had any problems or dominance but flatcoats are particularly happy friendly souls who love everyone. Just no jealousy at all.
Looking forward to how you get on training your spaniel!!
 
Springer pups are the best! I’m interested to see a photo of her bum markings from above: does the black follow the shape of her legs? So neat!
 
Trying to show her markings for CT. She has little black britches, with a white stumpy tail and white socks.

She has most definately come out of her shell, in fact I think she is nuts! Clinically... so funny though. Poor other dogs!
