Hello
I have had my 10 year old ISH for 10 days and was told he’s a snaffle mouth and when schooling I would tend to agree. When hacking he is more enthusiastic having been hunted in Ireland and he puts his head up. So was thinking maybe a Pelham would help using the snaffle rein mostly. He is having his teeth done on Friday. Any thoughts appreciated

Which snaffle? The term snaffle mouthed is not terribly descriptive when there are snaffles whose action is actually quite severe - although granted not as severe as some other bits.

10 days is not a massive length of time and the horse may settle. Do you know what the previous owner rode in? What does your instructor say?
