Reading from my previous post. Calli has started to weave. Boredom is the answer I know but limited winter turnout ie hald an hour a day!! I have a couple of snack a balls for her. But how do you go on if you have a shavings bed. Do the horses not eat the bits of shavings whilst they are picking up the bits of food and is if they are eating shavings this must be bad for them. She does have about a 2 foot bit of concrete at the front of stable with no bedding but still gets bits of shavings there anyway. What is best feed to put in the ball and would 2 balls be better than 1?

We use spillers fibre cubes. Not sure about them eating shavings by mistake as we're on straw.

You could always hang up bits of carrot, float bits of apple in her water etc?

Fiber Cubes and carrot sticks both work wel in a snack a ball, she should be able to pick the treats out of her bed O.K. Also try Swede on a rope and Apple bobbing.

You can also try pushing polos and pieces of apple, carrot, swede etc INTO her haynet. Kept mine interested! I've also read that 2 or 3 separate haynets hung round the stable with eg hay in 1, haylage in another, something else in another can mimic natural browsing better than just 1 haynet full of 1 fibre. Good luck!

Mine has one ball with Spillers fibre cubes and has a shavings bed with a bit at the front with no shavings, and it's fine
