just ordered my boy a likit snak-a-ball (shocked when i saw the price :eek:) but he is worth it i guess..... :p anyways does any one use one for there horse ? what do you put in it ? and how long will it take for half a scoop of pony nuts to be gone ? :D:D:D

I've used one for about 5/6 years. They're fab. As mine are 'fatties' I put half a scoop in per night when they're stabled in winter, and it lasts all night. That's their tea, and saves me lots on hay.

I recently just bought one for my mare who has torn her suspensory ligament so lots of box rest and was just as shocked at the price!!
But everyone I've spoken to says they are well worth the money and their horses love them so I thought I would get her one.
I was very excited with my....I meen her ;)...new toy! However, I've spent hours with her trying to teach her how to use it but she just cant figure it out? She just rolls it then looks confused and then ignores it :(
I think I've ended up playing with it more than she has! Let me know how quickly your boy gets the hang of it :D!!

ive heard there really godod and that you can put most things in there pony nuts and other feed etc or treats they even make specail treats to go in them :)

I had one each for my two horses a few years ago - they both worked out in their own way how to use it.

My cob used to kick it against the stable door so pony nuts would fall out. My warmblood used to nuzzle or lick the lid and the nuts used to fall out the bottom.

will do :D hopefully it will come by wednesday, i think he will get the hang of it he is very greedy :p:p

My greedy highland has one, he can empty it in a very short time, I now mix high fibre cubes with unmolassed chaff so that the half you fill is nearly full. It takes ages for him to get the cubes out if I do it like that, there are even some left in the morning sometimes.

I've just started using a feeder ball like this one: http://www.horsetoysfortraining.com/shop/decahedron-ball-horse-toy-pink.html for my yearling, had it originally for my mare but she got through the food too quickly!!! But my yearling seems to use it a little better! It's helping keep him entertained in the stable which he wasn't used to being in alone. So I'm all for them!!

I just put half of the yearlings pony nuts ration in it, the other half in his feed!
