I have just got in from walking my dog in the woods, my dog is a friendly playful staff x english bulldog (rather gorgeous!! :o) the down side is people are a bit scared of her because of the way she looks!! anyways.. she is running around at a zillion miles an hour minding her own business when a little snappy thing came running up ...my dog went to play a game of 'chase' and the bloody horrible little dog tried to take chunks out of her!!

my poor dog is now a bit bloody and bruised and not too impressed, i walked all around the woods trying to find the owner (who just walked off!!) ..its a good job i never came across them reallycos i felt like taking a chunk out of them!!! I wouldn't mind but if my dog had defended herself she could of without a doubt snapped the little dog in half, and it would of been her that got into trouble and been branded a devil dog!!! ...bit of a pointless rant really, sorry... but i feel better for hammering it out on a keyboard!! :p

Sorry your pup is all bloody and bruised. And what an irresponsible owner, just walking off like that.

Just curious, does your dog tend to be extremely enthusiastic in her greetings? That can sometimes cause another dog to snap. I have two small dogs that love to play with dogs of all sizes, but my Boston terrier will sometimes snap if she gets trodden on, or jumped on, during an initial hello. A civilised sniff is required because any craziness ensues (usually on her part :D).

hiya, yeah she is quite enthusiastic!! she does generally have a quick sniff (to make sure they aren't going to kill her!! lol!! she is a huge coward!!) i wouldn't of minded if the owner had attempted to stay around/call off his dog. :(

Also is she docked?

I have found dogs don't know how to interact with a docked one if they havent had experience of one before - its a vital communication tool we choose to chop off....

I know how you feel. Last winter, when it was dark out, I was standing on a street corner with my two dogs, when suddenly, my pug lets out a huge scream. Turns out a jogger's Chesapeake Bay Retriever bit my dog on the head. And did the jogger stop to see if my dog was okay? Did he hell. I was so angry that I ran after said jogger for about two hundred yards in my heeled boots!

..erm no she is not docked!!! :( (omg i love her waggy tail!!) :D

ooo its a pity you didn't catch up with the jogger!! some people are unbelievable!! xx
