Snatching in canter out on hacks?

We had a lovely steady canter out on our hack today but Lil has the rather alarming habit of snatching at the bit and sticking her head right down on the ground as we go into canter.

She doesn't do it in the school and she doesn't use it as an excuse to tank off, after a couple of strides she'll let you collect her back up but I'd rather she didn't do it at all.

Any tips?

Magic does exactly the same with me. Doesn't do it all the time, only when he's feeling particularly full of himself. Like you say, it's only for a couple of strides and then he allows me to collect him back up. Got no advice, but interested if anyone has any!
