sneaky livery

[ QUOTE ]
All very odd, if she is feeding extra, she's obviously not happy with the tea that being made for her, yet doesn't say so ??

To avoid singling her out and creating an akward situation, you could put a notice up saying you are aware that food is being taken, remind all your liveries of allowances. If anyone is not happy to speak to you, but if no one does, then you will not tolerate food being taken without permission.

I find the whole thing a bit odd anyway, we all buy our own food at my yard as they all eat different stuff.

No, too much of that corporate attitude bollocks in this country, take it up with who the problem is with and leave the other liveries alone, why should everyone else feel uncomfortable becase of one theiving individual.

Just lock the feed bins...no brainer

what about the fact that shes not paid any livery in over 2 months??!!! Surely her rights should be revoked??!!!

Separate issue I pay t/o separate to my DIY so for the quivalent of what you offer I pay about £190 a month, so you are very reasonable

I hate it when notes and notices are put up because of what one person is doing. Like "please everyone, make sure the fields are poo picked at least twice a week" - because one lazy baggage isn't doing her bit and the YO doesn't want to single her out.
Just lock up your feeds, if you haven't got the courage to speak to her. Simple.

We had feed going for a while - and not small amounts. It came to a head one day when I'd bought a bag of Blue Chip Dynamic (£40) and the whole bag had gone in 5 days when it normally lasted 4 weeks! They had 3 horses and never any feed....I wasn't the only one losing.

I'm quite philosophical about it - I'd rather the horses got a feed than got nothing - and just getting stuck and asking for a loan of some feed at the end of the pay-month is OK and happy to help, but this was barmy and costing me a fortune!!!

Sorry but I think its a communication thing

If I was on livery where feed was included and I wanted to give my horse say some nuts in a ball then I would take it from the bin and as I have paid for it in my livery I would not class this as stealing or being sneaky..

If I thought it was being seen that way I would be totally gutted and if asked would buy an extra bag of whatever to feed when I wanted to or indeed ask that feed is no longer included and buy my own.

I do hope it is juat a case of not thinking on liverys part

Totally agree.

Suggested by other posters - Locking bins ;I really don't think that locking bins is a good idea. It is basically saying 'I know you are taking feed and I am not having it'. It seems a very blunt and potentially confrontational way of handling things.

I really hope that the two of you can sit down, be open-minded and have a relaxed but constructive discussion.

I am quite shocked that this person is 9 weeks behind on her livery payments and I would certainly be wanting to address that!
