Hi There.

I have a five year old Highland/Cob, sometimes he starts getting really irritated and sneezes - tossing his head about he only when does this when we are out a hack, not in the school - could this be an allergy to something - he is a very laid back big boy and doesn't do this every time were out. Any ideas please :) x

I have a cob on my yard he has never head shacked until he moved to cheshire, i would defo say he has a allergy to something try a nose net this really helps!!!! the cob got really bad he had running nose rubbing it on the ground and started twitching and head shacking, at his very worst times we put him on anti histamines which really helped him and stopped him from been difficult to ride, i would say yours is mild at the moment and think a nose net would do the trick!! if you not got one try a pair of thin tights over his nose but lead him around first so he gets use to it!! and cut a hole at the bottom so he can open his mouth lol!! xxx

Thank You Fuzzle :) - had looked into nose nets so will give them a try. We have a small forest which we have access to and it seems to be in there it starts - I have an old fly mask that I will be able to adapt till the nets come in. Thank you for the tights tip :)

I would agree that he has an allergy, we have a big lad who sneezes and head shakes without a nose net on , He has a fly mask with a nose extension on and this gives him relief in the field too.
