Our lad has been sneezing since Christmas Day. We initially thought it was just due to a different environment as we were staying at parents in law house. We got home yesterday eve and since 4am in the morning he kept having bouts of sneezing where he would sneeze 5 or 6 times in a row then nothing for half hour to an hour then it would start again. Vets booked for 10am tomorrow as they were rammed today!! Any ideas? We can't see anything up the nostrils. He's ok in himself although somewhat tired as he barely slept (neither did we as he sleep in our room)

A few of mine had it, it could be part of/mutation of the viruses going around, could be completely un related but it has been spreading like wild fire I had a kennel cough dog around mine so I think mine was this, only the my cavi and labrador I have got it and no other dogs, it lasted about 2 days, like reverse sneezing for the cavi and snotting runny nose for lab and he kept pulling his face like a human would when they are about to sneeze then dont:D.

One of mine is a chronic snotty sneezer - better now but at his worst he was all infected and sneezing up thick green strings, poor lad didn't get a wink of sleep for days. After lots of expensive cameras up snouts and blood tests it came down to allergies leaving him prone to respiratory tract infections.

Unfortunately there is not a great deal that can be done for house dust mite and pollen allergies (trust me to have a dog allergic to both the outdoors and the indoors ) but having knocked the infection on the head with some serious antibiotics he now remains snot-free on a large dose of antihistamines. He is still a spectacular reverse sneezer!

I don't know what would be better, a sneezy virus or an allergy, not so much you can do for either apart from following them round with a wet wipe (whatever you do don't let snot dry on the walls, it doesn't come off unless you take the paint off with it...)

The 'normal' sneezing has stopped has two bouts of reverse sneezing last night so we cancelled vet for now and are keeping an eye on him as there are no other symptoms- no nose rubbing or snot or anything! Massive thanks for the replies they made me feel less anxious
