Abit of a joke thread. But do you recon horses can be snobs/act like they think they're amazing.
for instance, as far as we can trace back to my mare has been very fortunate to have very priveleged homes. Shes only had three owners including me and is now 22. Basically from the start shes basicially had her food gold plated to her. Compared to other horses on our yard, shes lived the life of a 'millionaire pony' to best word it. [Also means she got the bloody Prascend at the drop of a hat Haha]. although id never change her lifestyle since shes very content with it...I recon shes abit of a spoilt little kid although shes a sweetie. Are our horses influenced by the social circles they live in? Again_ a slight jokey thread so dont take too seriously haha

Ha I think some of the horses at our yard think they are better than my pony! They wont 'talk' to him and do seem to lift their noses in disgust at this chunky gipsy cob in their field...

Thats so mean! Haha. But unfortunately my girls like that too. She has her friend in her barn and thats it. I think she needs to be sent out into the real world. You're poor pony though! Haha

I bought a 4* event horse from a yard that was stunning. I first saw him drying off after a shower under heat lamps. The yard was the most fantastically smart yard I've ever seen,it had every luxury known to the horse world.
The lad came home with me to slum it with the rest. He was introduced to the rest of the herd and allowed to get wet in the rain, roll in the mud, learn to hack with his new mates (at 15, he'd never hacked on roads before.)
He blossomed, from a highly strung, difficult to keep weight on horse with rubbish feet that couldn't hold a shoe into a chilled horse with great feet and a lovely nature.
He still adored competing, but had the best of both worlds on the farm where the stables were old, bathing was done with a bucket on the yard and good grass was the main part of his diet.
That was 8 years ago and he's never been sick or sorry. Still doing a bit of competing just because he enjoys it.

My favourite pony of all time very definitely thought that all other equines were beneath him ;) His favourite times were when we took him away for championship shows without any of the others. When he wasn't in the ring or being worked he mostly hung out at the lorry with us, grazing on a long line while I sat and held him.

I've never had another one since that so obviously preferred human company all day long! I owned him for 21 years and in all that time I never saw him form an attachment to another horse.

lol my pony hates shetlands too! Had some with us in a coloured class once, spud wouldn't stop snorting at them! Wouldn't stand straight in the line up either as wanted to turn round and keep his eye on the shetlands! :P

Something I witnessed at the riding school I once worked at was that the horses had "best friends" when out in the field. The weird thing was that they paired off quite accurately by type. The two heavy hunters were pals, the two ex-racers were pals, the two little Welsh ponies were pals, and so on.

There they would be every day, grazing in matching pairs round the field.

Strange co-incidence or snobbery? :D:D:D
