Hi folks, I hope I am worrying for nothing, as per title horse been snotty for ten days noe but only one nostril. He has some history of allergies/copd. Not bad though. Is turned out not had hay for months. On antibiotics since Monday, vet saying scary words like endoscopy. Anyone any experience of anything like this? Thanks.

My horse had an endoscopy done a few months ago to try and get to the bottom of choking. Its nothing to worry about, horse gets sedation and they insert a camera up its nose. I got to look in the camera of the scope by the vet so I could see there was no issues.

What colour is the snot? Could it be something like a blocked gland or something and that wgy its only coming out 1 nostril.

It's grey black crusts mostly, but after gentle excercise became green, yellow. Respiration rate slightly up too but he is a very snorty horse naturally. The main problem is our vet doesn't have mobile endoscope so it means trip to vets. Transport problems, etc.

Sounds like there is infection in there somewhere from the colour. Have the taken samples of the snot for testing? Might need a different type of antibiotics to sort it.

I was also going to suggest teeth. Classic sign of problems in the root of the tooth and infection of the sinus.
I'm afraid If it was me I'd be with a decent horse vet for this (no disrespect to your current vet) as you need to get to the bottom of it quickly
