Looking for some advice guy:D

One of my little 3 yo's seems to have the cold.. and a cough.. and snot!
Had been reading up and a few people have used cough bottles or honey?

Atm, He's on good quality hay (Im soaking it to be on the safe side), He was quite down over the weekend, but last night seemed brighter and nearly back to his cheeky self (found it great fun to try to wipe snot down my face! Charmer:rolleyes:).. He's in good condition, and not wimpy at all.. Fine caoated though.
Still coughing and snotting though. And to make matters worse his gums are pink and he's changing his teeth too. He's eating mushy foods quite happily, struggling with carrots etc..

Not sure whether it's this crazy weather- in the past month we've had blizzards, rain, wind, frost and glorious sunshine.. Now we have 50mph winds and rain  Welcome to Scotland!

Any advice welcome!

What colour is the snot?

Be careful, there are some nasty viruses going round (not just the different forms of Equine Herpes, but Equine Rhinovirus too) and you may need antibiotics if the horse develops a chest infection. If the snot is green, you need to get the Vet to look at the horse.

ETA. Is the horse putting more effort than normal into breathing?
