Well heavy snow was forecast for our area from midday today - and only an hour late - it's here. And today was the first time it had started to melt so back to square one!! It was forecast as very heavy with possible blizzards. all horses in and snug, loads of haylage and water so we are ready for it.

Thats nothing!! We have the snow for nearly 5 weeks!! Horses have been in for 6!!! Can't wait for it to go!! Don't send any more up to us!!!

Ours is thawing...boo

It's just started raining here in Exeter, and virtually all the snow has gone. Maybe if it's just started in Okehampton it will be with us soon? Def just normal rain at the moment though

its the moors which make our weather different. but this is coming up from cornwall as rain then turning ot snow here so you may well be a bit warmer than us in exeter and just get the rain. it is supposed to snow all night and some of tomorrow as well. But all weatehr sites seem to differ.

Horrible wet sleety stuff in the Newton Abbot area, and cold wind too. All my ponies, even the normally outdoor brigade wanted to come in at lunch time.

We left all ours in today - for the first time. decided it was freezing cold, frozen and incredibly windy so I didn't fancy struggling to get them all out - only to have to get them in again in a couple of hours by which time thry would all be fed up and crabby. So all in eating and snug.

Seems like the sensible option. However, one of mine hates to stay in and if "fruitcake" can't go for a few hours at least he gets truely unbearable so I tend to chuck him and his friends out for half a day and then drag them back in (not much fun in this weather), but today when I went to get the old boy the others come racing over like to say "We are coming in as well, thanks", so I brought them in as well.

I think they must have seen the weather forecast because I didn't start sleeting until after I all got them in.

Well, we now appear to have rain AND snow. I dont think it will settle because it's too wet and it's washing away all signs that there ever was snow! Maybe I will be able to ride at the end of the week after my exams

PS Bosworth did you get my PM the other day? My connection was playing up plus I have hardly ever used PMs so dont know if I did it right...

I am keeping my fingers crossed as well that I'll be able to ride at the weekend, haven't done so since New Years Day!

Nope its definitely not there, I have checked, double checked and triple checked. I hadn't had any of the flashing envelopes which I think means you have new messages but I have gone into 'check messages' and there's nothing there from you. Is there somewhere else that's like an inbox?

Poor you and all those folk in the North and in Scotland. Thinking of you. I am old enough to remember 1963!!

We have had sleet this afternoon - not heavy and all the schools closed promptly.

Probably only one gritter for two departments mind you.
