Snow next week?

I pretty much just carry on as usual. Last time we had a lot of snow they were out when it fell so came in all a bit miserable in the morning for food, hay and a dry out.
I never keep them in more than a day or night though whatever happens

I am not missing having a horse so much in this weather. I hope it does snow, living less than a mile from work I can walk in and would really enjoy it. I love the snow.

I just worry about Lari beingbout 24/7 in it but I'm being daft, sure he will cope!!.

As long as he can eat I’m sure he’s absolutely fine!
I imagine relentless rain like we had recently to be worse than snow for them really.

It’s just started here I am on the beach on the north east coast with the dogs
It was a beautiful clear afternoon wild seas and wonderful light, a mix of colours from bright to brooding then in five minutes it changed and down came the snow it’s falling briskly snow 1degree c it means it batten down hatches here comes comes some proper weather .
I am waiting for Mrgs he as ever is infected with last minuteitis and is lying under his caravan doing something to the water supply .
I want to get home to my horses .

Take a look at the Clever Cowgirl on YouTube she posted today about preparing for a snowstorm and minus fifty temperatures .
Thats a proper cold snap.

We’ve had the lightest sprinkling of snow, but due to the also un forecast rain yesterday and overnight we do have black ice 😳.

The plasterers have arrived for two days work in the house. We’d intended for them to go round the outside of the house via the patio with all their stuff but that route is lethal. They are using the front door instead, we’ve salted the doorstep. The gravel drive is not slippery, but it is frozen solid. Going to sweep and salt the patio when it thaws, which it should do at lunchtime.

All 3 neds are very good when I tell them ‘slowly, slowly’, they automatically do little careful mincing steps when I say that.

It came to just a light sprinkle here but it’s lethal really lethal horses are out .
I have a meeting at the new house later and have bought a builders heater for the men I need to pick that up .

We only had a dusting of snow but the waterlogged field (and poached gateway) have frozen absolutely solid and the field is barely walkable. Have brought mine in (which took ages as they picked carefully over the frozen ruts). That much water in the fields, and then for everything to freeze so solidly has made it horrible.
