Does anyone use a snuggy hood turnout hoody on a horse on full turnout?

Basically Samba is a bit precious and doesnt really like her mane and some of her neck being groomed with plastic curry comb or dandy brush, we are working on it.BUT I am thinking of getting one of these to put on when the weather gets totally pants and the field turns into a bog (I am very enthusiastic about winter). Would it be ok to leave on a few days a week so its clean when I ride her? Has anyone had problems with it rubbing? Moving? Not being very waterproof and ending up with a cold horse? I dont have a full neck rug for her, she only has a mw and hw half neck

I have snuggy hoods turnout hoods on several horses -they wear them 24/7 except for when being groomed ridden - have never moved, slipped, rubbed etc. I think with the exception of one all these horses have full necks on. I really can't fault them - though I would say keep an eye on the mane, wash the hood every week and make sure the mane lies flat and smooth underneath, or you can end up with dreadlocks! Do NOT buy the head only, they are absolutely useless and have never known one stay put for more than 10mins however!
I know your pain though, I did once have a horse that point blank would NOT be groomed, he would put you on the floor. The only thing that worked was HOURS of stroking with one of those pimple palm cheapy winter gloves.

I do it for the worst of the winter - some with full neck but most without. If it rains heavily, then they sometimes lose them, but mostly I am very happy with the lack of movement.
