so decided to buy but the m/l was too tight on withers, cutting in under chin and didn't go round belly,
large was too long in neck, and too big on belly.

wouldn't have said horse is unusual in terms of sizing

anyone else had this problem? - not sure whether to try without zip or call it a day and live with either the mud or no mane!

snuggyhood said they'd alter but will cost £25 which adding to the £65 it cost in the beginning makes it quite expensive

thanks

I've got the L for my 15.3hh IDx - bit too long in the neck, a little baggy around the belly but I'd rather it a little big TBH, as it does fit round his thick neck. I use it with the spik & span under rug (over the top), which helps keeps it in place.

You could sew some extra velcro to the belly strap to make it more snug fit?

ETA: mine it without zip, not sure if it really makes a difference in fitting. I just find it easier to pull it over his head (he's learned to just stand still for this part and will put his nose down for me!) rather than faffing with a zip.

I bought the M/L for my chunky 14.2 ISH X, found it a bit long in the neck but no problem, bit tight around the throat velcro but within a week or so the velcro ripped off anyway so not a problem anymore lol! You could try the zipless one but not sure what difference it'd make - i honestly love mine and dont know what I'd do without it horse is a dirty ****** and now never has a muddy neck :D

Here is my blog review: http://geegeeandme.blogspot.co.uk/2015/03/snuggy-hood-headlesswaterproof-horse.html

Love the idea but it just kept falling down, but it was tight at the top? It worked it's way down throughout the day and then became even tighter? I have heard they're excellent at fitting advise over the phone and alterations but again as minimex2 said I didn't fancy spending the pennies, instead I don't used it and probably should eBay it.

I have just ordered a hood alone as they cover a large part of the neck at he top which is where I struggle with mud and hopefully shouldn't have the falling down issue.

It's meant to be baggy ish round neck, and long in the neck with wrinkles to allow for movement and so mane doesn't rub. Depends how much I guess!
