Does anyone use their Sweet itch hood as a turnout hood and cut the flappy bits off?

Is this because you have one already? I suppose you could but the material they use for the sweetich is the same as the turn out hoods.

Just to add my own question!

If they are made of the same material then could I just use my turnout one in the summer without him getting too hot? It's black, but I know they do the sweet itch ones in black? My lad rubs his mane and it's the only thing that stops it getting rubbed out, so over summer he always loses it as he has just a normal fly rug/hood on.

I'm not sure I would want a black on in the summer, but I do use the black bodies (sweetitch) in the winter under normal rugs as the belly cover helps prevent mine from getting muddy bellies!
