Anyone tried it? Thinking my mare could do with more belly coverage and possibly the udder cover... are there other similar options? She has a Rambo Vamoose one at the moment but is still getting bitten.

I've had them on 2 cobs and know someone who bought one for a ID last year.

Lovely rugs that fit beautifully and didn't rub but lasted no time at all. My cobs ones seemed to want to move back and went around the front on the legs and in the girth covering bits. My friends one just kind of unravelled at the seams.

I did contact them about the first one that went wrong and they offered a free repair which is great but it didn't last.

They're also difficult to get on unless you want to do the neck separately. You're basically pulling 7ft plus of heavy material over your horses head.

Maybe they work better on lighter horses.

I wouldn’t recommend if your horse is high withered. I bought one for my old boy last year and after a few weeks it rubbed the top of his withers raw. I tried to pad it out but it made it worse. Shame as I liked the way it was so close to skin unlike other fly rugs.

Seen your last post and I would agree - I bought one and my mare hated having it put on and the udder cover rubbed the inside of her leg so it will be going up for sale soonish (6'3" if anyone wants to PM me!). I'm resorting to fly spray and gel to keep the flying buzzers away.

I had them on my LW cob and really rate them. They are stretchy and fitted well and didn't seem to rip the way others do. They were too thick for very hot days though, but I used a rambo protector then and it seemed to work ok.

They arent the same as the turnout rugs with attached face masks, they just go over the ears and you can buy a separate mask or use an ordinary one.

Yes I had one, and the service from them was excellent as my mare is a very heavy traditional so they made me an extra wide roomy one in her usual 6ft 3 length. She gets bitten terribly on her udders so I had the udder guard too but although they are a great idea it was a real fat to put on- especially if relying on someone else to do it and also she was just far too hot in it- even when clipped. Now I just lather sudacrem between her legs and udders which keeps the flies off her
