Hi - does anybody use the Snuggy Hoods Summer Turnout Hood please? I'm looking to try and work out sizing, so if anybody uses these with a big shouldered cob/native then I'd be interested to hear if you needed to size up from what's recommended. Thanks!

I have a big cob who a massive everywhere - he is in 6'9 heavy horse rugs but takes a 6'6 sweetitch rug. He has an XL hood, which is a bit long but fits ok otherwise - the summer turnout hoods are pretty much the same material as the sweetitch rugs as far as I can tell. If your horse is at all concerned about things going over his head I'd get the zip option as they are quite tight fitting, especially initially.[

I couldn't get Snuggy Hoods to fit my cob at all - either they didn't do up round his shoulders / girth, or they were long enough to come right down over his ears. It was pretty comical but rather frustrating!! I concluded that they were designed for TB types, and sold them both online.

Thanks both! Hmmm, not sure what to do... Surbie, can I ask what height your cob is please? And Widgeon, did you find any other brands that actually DID fit your boy?

I gave up I'm afraid - there are plenty of other brands out there though, and some of them specialize in cob / native fit. You probably want to ask somebody who shows cobs or natives, they'd be bound to know. Sorry to be of so little use!

No problem! Thanks for letting me know. It's always that bit harder to find things to fit the chunkies :)
