snuggy hoods sweet itch rug

They are fab rugs IMO, Snuggy Hoods also do a repair and bespoke fit service. So if your rug needs altering, they will do this for you.

The material is very stretchy and non of my horses have ever had rug rubs from wearing them 24/7.

Hope this helps x

I have used them but had to stop as they were rubbing the mane, mare had staph aureus so very fragile. That said my boys mane rubbed too it ended up on wrong side a lot.

Love them or hate them I think. :)

snuggies are great providing you buy the correct size but like all rugs, need to be kept away from fencing.

hi can anyone tell me if theyre any good and what fabric are they made from
I researched fly rugs extensively on-line, liked the Snuggy Hoods design because of the extent of cover (between front legs, udder/sheath cover), showerproof material, so I bought one.
However, the material is unsuitable because it is so stretchy - the area around the chest stretches so much that the back end of the rug ends up half way down the horse's tail. There is a webbing tape sewn along the top of the rug, obviously to stop it stretching, but there's nothing to stop the area round the chest stretching. This means that droppings end up in the sheath guard, where they actually attract flies. When I first put it on my horse it seemed a really good fit, but soon stretched.
Within a few days, I started having to repair it frequently as the material tore very easily, though the horse was in a field where there was nothing much to tear it on (electric fences rather than wire) and he doesn't usually damage rugs. I know the company are supposed to repair rugs but what does the horse wear in the meantime? - these rugs are expensive and I really couldn't afford to buy another as spare.
I'm really disappointed in this rug which is one of the most expensive on the market, and which I bought as it's important to protect my horse from flies as he's sensitive to the papilloma virus.
The idea would be good if it worked, but it needs different material to be successful.

I got a Snuggy Hoods rug after having Boetts and others. I had hoped it would be good but I hate it. It rubs on the withers and the material is heavy and stretchy. When it gets wet it weighs a ton and the weight pulls the rug back on the body so it slips down the tail and if it aso moves across pony ends up with a kink in his tail. I got one with the hood separate from the neck but I haven't been able to use the hood as it slides forward a bit and the stitching then rubs his eyes. I sent it back to the company and they were helpful and altered it but it still won't stay in the right position.
I've given up on it and it sits in the tackroom and he is wearing his Rambo at the moment.
