Can anyone point me in the right direction as to which is the best?

I'm at a point of pulling my hair out and have read all manner of reviews on each and still, if not more, at a point of total confusion!

At the moment Equi theme seems more appealing, dictated mostly by my wallet however have read it comes up small on medium to heavyweight horses, which may not be much good for my guy being a big boned warmblood.

I've also looked at horseware sweet itch hoody but the biggest problem I have had with fitting is around the shoulders and I think it will the same old story with that one too, hence looking at stretchier materials like snuggy hoods.

I've also used premier equine but that was shoulder issues again and left a bad swollen area in his chest where it slipped after only one night out in it :(

Thanks for any advice!

i have a 5'9 Equi-theme on a 13.2hh NF pony, but its like a mini skirt. it could do with being a good 8" longer each side. It's also not hard wearing and pulls backwards, pulling on the chest

I have both but prefer the snuggy - equitheme fits ok but always pulls back leaving a line round the neck/shoulder seam that rubs over any length of time. I did order a bigger size in snuggy though for my big-shouldered pony - her normal size was tight around the shoulders. The next size fits perfectly round the shoulders but is admittedly long, one day I will get round to shortening it across the body, easy enough to do if you can sew a straight line (or get snuggy hoods to do it for you)

Snuggy seem expensive but if you look around or can afford to wait they always have sales, usually half price at the end of summer, but have had sales since the beginning of the year according to my emails! Look on amazon too, they often sell at half price and carry sizes that have sold out elsewhere.

I've bought a few products from Snuggy and they have fitted 10x better than any of the cheap versions.
They also generally have a much bigger range of sizes so you can find one to suit

If you like the equi theme style there is a lady on ebay, (Cornerstone Browbands), who makes similar rugs made to measure. They are lovely and deep at the front as that style can be shallow, and i'm sure she could accommodate big shoulders.

So Equi theme is out.... My wallet just made a little whimper lol!

However now MuddyTb you have now thrown another option in!

Have you bought one, what is the material like? Slightly concerned it may not be thick enough :/

It is similar to the equi theme/boett fabrics. These are not as thick or heavy as a snuggy hood. And the rambo would be the only really strong one. However, being lighter means it's pretty good in the heat, he hardly ever sweats in it.

I have bought several over 10 years with my boy. He's in his own paddock with electric fencing, and they've lasted him pretty well. The coverage is the best of the lot IMO but will depend on how tough you need it to be.
