this does happen...i walked past a liverys box and noticed there was a small probelm...it had slipped down over his eyes and poor berts was standing ever so still in the back of the stable...with the help of someone else we quietly pulled it back into place...
the following night at 3am (must be ill i didnt hear anything!...lol!) chris heard horse on yard went outside and saw berts..he had been rubbing over his door, got himself cuaght by the hood and managd to get himself out!...
Id love one of these to go under my horses turnout combo's as the neck part always ends up getting greasy which then makes their manes gross. But I just couldn't face turning out in these..... Id worry so much that they'd have an accident!
mmm unfortunately, being blind in the stable isnt so bad but in the field - well, they cant see where they are headed bless them
i have a lycra hood i use for mane taming but i am planning on altering it somehow so there arent eyes holes as such - more attached to the headcollar kind, so i can leave it on over night in the stable before shows etc safely
i use the snuggy hoods with ears in this way they cant slip round. there brill i have 2 and have used them every day for the last 2 years and never had a problem they can be worn in the hottest of weather and dont cause horse to sweat.
We are using Dress Circle ones now (there is a pic of one on Robo in H&H yesterday). They are fab and work really well - they various types, but they do not recommend they are used when turning horses out - just for stable use.
