Hi another questions about snuggy hoods was just wondering if they do help with poo on her clean face before a show shes not a complete poo monster but anything that makes pre clean washing a little quicker is a godsend thank you xx

I've never used the fleece jams on my boy. He had a lyrca hood, but he frequently seems to use his poo as a pillow, leaving some nice marks.

The only thing I've found that actually works to completely stop it is the turnout hood, which has some water repellency.

A good quality lycra hood will help guard against stains, or at least make them easier to get out. You might find the thicker turnout hoods make them a bit hot and inclined to rub unless it's very cold. All in one body suits are quite good, but obviously don't protect the legs!
I'm afraid I always expect the worst with my grey mare and allow extra time on a show day...sometimes I get a pleasant surprise but not often!
My friends all laughed their heads off when I got up mega early to get my youngster ready for his in hand class to find just one tiny mark which wiped off with a wet cloth...I had the sense to get a dun this time!
I know it's boring and difficult to do if the horse is not at home or you are not staying away with her, but I do find that having a really clean bed the night before a show and being vigilant about poo picking late at night helps. (my mare is well used to her slightly tipsy owner invading with a skip and a torch when we are staying away :D )

I have the snuggy turnout hood and body, my grey mare is a secret hippo so I wouldn't be without them. Saves loads of time getting her ready. Only place she gets mucky is her nose now and legs but 2 minutes with a sponge and we're good to go :)

Would not want to do winter without them and have used them in the summer on their own before a show.

Turnout hoods help stop stains, and mine don't get too hot in them. I've also got Snuggy Jams which are warm, cute, and make them super shiney!

i dont have a grey but I am a new owner of snuggy jams complete with fleecy belly cover with waterproof outer. now i dont feel guilty about chucking him out fully clipped!
